The Corner House Terms and Conditions
Legal Disclaimer
All reservations will be confirmed by email. Until this occurs no booking has been made. A Deposit of £100.00 should be received no later than 5 days following confirmation of your booking. Full payment for your stay should be received no later than 28 working days prior to your arrival. If keys are taken on your departure from the cottage, we will ask for the cost of replacement keys and the inconvenience.
- The accommodation is for a maximum of 6 guest (with ANY additions for extra children or Adults ONLY By prior arrangement).
- All information as to number of guest staying must be declared on The Corner house’s booking form, which must be returned before the booking.
- No additional guests are allowed to stay at The Corner house’s at any time. (Unless by prior written arrangement with the owner.)
On the rare occasion when damage occurs, by negligence or a deliberate action taken by a Guest, which directly or indirectly causes loss to The Corner House, the Guest agrees to indemnify such losses and that this forms part of the agreement at the time of booking. Losses include lost income, specialist expenses and the sourcing of alternative accommodation as necessary.
The Corner House operates a non-smoking policy throughout the House. Guests can smoke in the courtyard, although cigarette stubs should not be discarded outside. We do not allow pets in carpeted areas of the The Corner House.
When Dog walking PLEASE use the back entrance via High street West to avoid dirt on the down stairs rooms.
In the event of a guest(s) breaching either of the aforementioned policies, The Corner House will levy a charge for laundry and additional cleaning to the Guests final bill and any damage caused as a result.
We reserve the right to decline any booking for any reason and will refund any monies paid.
General Notes:
We would suggest that Guests consider the merits of insurance cover that includes a cancellation risk.
Full payment must be received prior to 28 days (4 weeks) of arrival date otherwise reservation will be deemed cancelled.
Cancellation Policy
When a reservation is made, by telephone or by email and accepted, a contract exists between the Guest and The Corner House. If for any reason the reservation is cancelled, in full or in part, a breach of contract exists. The Corner House reserves the right to cancel a booking on any grounds it feels are necessary and will honour no liability by doing so.
Cancellations giving 42 days notice* will have deposits returned in full, with no deductions. For shorter periods of notice, The Corner House retains deposits of 20% to cover administration and any resulting loss of business.
*PLEASE NOTE: except Burghley, Christmas, New Year and Easter weeks where we require at least 16 weeks (112 days) notice.
Late Cancellations – where notice of cancellation is received after 42 days of the planned arrival date (or 112 days where Burghley, Christmas, New Year or Easter weeks’ have been booked), the following conditions apply:
Where notice of cancellation is received within 14 working days of the first reservation date, the following conditions apply. The Corner House will make every effort to re-let the accommodation, and therefore reduce the likely losses for the Guest.
If at the end of the reservation period, despite the efforts made by The Corner House the house is not re-let, then The Corner House is entitled to claim damages which reflect the losses incurred as a result of the cancellation. This is the value of the reservation; less any re-let value achieved and deposits already paid.
Terms, Conditions, Contracts and Disputes are determined under English Law.
The Corner House ‘closes’ for arrivals at 7.00 p.m. unless by prior agreement, at which time outstanding reservations are assumed to be non-arrivals.
Non-arrivals are ‘late cancellations’.
The latest check out time is 10.30 am, unless an alternative time has been arranged with the cottage manager. Late check-out will incur a charge equivalent to the previous days rate.
